Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Your questions about the Ivory Coast e-Visa and travel, answered.
About the e-Visa
The Ivory Coast e-Visa is an official travel authorisation that allows citizens of eligible countries to enter the country for tourism or business purposes. The entire process, from application to payment and receiving the approval document, is completed online. It simplifies the visa process by eliminating the need to visit an embassy or consulate.
The Ivory Coast e-Visa is typically valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. Within this 90-day window, you can enter Ivory Coast for a stay of up to 30 days. The e-Visa is a single-entry document, meaning you can only enter the country once with it.
Yes, absolutely. You must print a physical copy of your e-Visa approval document. You will need to present this printed document to the airline at check-in and to the immigration officials upon arrival at the airport in Ivory Coast. A digital copy on your phone or tablet will not be accepted.
The Application Process
Standard processing time is typically within a few business days. However, this can vary depending on the volume of applications and other factors. We also offer an expedited processing service for urgent travel needs, which can significantly shorten the waiting time. We always recommend applying at least one to two weeks before your travel date to be safe.
You will generally need the following documents in digital format to upload:
- A scanned copy of your passport's biographical page (the page with your photo and details). Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your date of entry.
- A recent, passport-style colour photograph.
- A confirmed return flight ticket.
- Proof of accommodation in Ivory Coast (e.g., a hotel reservation).
It is crucial to double-check all information before submitting your application, as errors can lead to rejection. If you have already submitted it and noticed a mistake, please contact our customer support team immediately with your application reference number. We will advise you on the best course of action.
Travel & General Information
Yes. All travellers must present a valid International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis (the "Yellow Card") upon arrival, proving they have been vaccinated against Yellow Fever. You can be denied entry without this certificate. Please see our Health & Vaccination page for more details.
Upon arrival at Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ), look for the dedicated "e-Visa" counter at immigration. You will present your passport and your printed e-Visa approval document. The immigration officer will verify your documents, capture your biometrics (fingerprints and photo), and then issue the final visa sticker into your passport.
